“Cats in the Time of Covid” (2020) is a hand-embroidered mise-en abyme of
tiny multicolored cat heads grouped inside a larger abstract cat shape.
Thyrza Nichols Goodeve is a writer, artist, and interviewer. Her simple line drawings, made with a Pilot V7 marker, have been called “doodletoons” by art critic Jerry Saltz. During the Covid quarantine she began to hand embroider brightly colored doodletoon patches and framed objects.
